Sands China volunteer team visit elderly in annual event

A group of around 120 Sands Cares Ambassadors visited the homes of about 100 elderly living at Seac Pai Van public housing in Coloane Sunday, in an annual spring- cleaning volunteer service activity ahead of the Chinese New Year. The ambassadors also offered haircuts to the elderly residents while there for the annual activity.

Sands China began the goodwill act in 2010, and has since donated a total of over MOP2 million, benefiting nearly 9,300 elderly citizens to date.

Sands China Ltd. President Dr. Wilfred Wong said, “the contributions made by Macau’s elderly population should not be forgotten. Sands China is grateful to our Sands Cares Ambassadors for caring for and serving this important segment of our community during this festive time of Chinese New Year.”

The Sands Cares Ambassador program was established in August 2009 to give Sands China employees an outlet for serving the local community by organizing community activities and initiatives that work toward creating a better Macau.
