Seven companies invited to LRT depot project

The government has invited seven companies to bid on the contract of the construction of the depot project of the Light Rapid Transit (LRT), according to a report by TDM. Preliminary information regarding the bid will be published on the website of the Transportation Infrastructure Office, according to the department’s announcement. Last year, the government called for an end to the construction contract of the Depot Superstructure with the then-contractor after building was delayed. The Depot project is one of the five projects comprising the Taipa section of the LRT. It is situated east of the Cotai Strip and south of the airport, with the Avenida do Aeroporto on its west side. The project will cover an area of approximately 130,000 square meters, consisting of an operation control center, a factory and maintenance building, an area for trains to be parked and cleaned, as well as a 600-meter train-testing track.

Zhuhai to build Guangdong’s first wind power plant

Zhuhai is building Guangdong Province’s first offshore wind power plant, according to a report by Jornal Va Kio. The plant will be located near the island of Guishan in Zhuhai, and is expected to provide electricity to Zhuhai’s Wanshan district. The wind power plant is also expected to bring three nearby islands under the same electric network. This plant has been listed as part of China’s national demonstration project. Upon its completion, the plant is expected to generate an annual amount of nearly 266 million kilowatt-hours of electrical energy, in addition to saving 86.6 thousand tonnes of coal.

Youth center to offer free art course during summer

The Outer Harbor Youth Activities Center of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) is calling for applicants to enroll in its summer programs, as announced in a statement released by DSEJ. The department will provide arts, cultural and sports classes during the months of August and September, including cello, K-Pop dancing, and yoga. Residents aged 13 to 29 are welcome to apply for the classes. Depending on the program, class numbers will range between 12 and 25 participants. All courses will be offered in Mandarin or Cantonese.
