A local university student has fallen victim to a scam impersonating mainland authorities, reporting a loss of MOP204,000. The Judiciary Police said the victim received a call last week from someone claiming to be a mainland officer, accusing him of spreading scam messages via his phone. The victim followed instructions to download a messaging app and entered his bank details. He later discovered funds, including in Hong Kong dollars, had been transferred out of his account.
