A G2E exhibitor promoting phone-betting technology had as their star attraction (supposedly) a Japanese porn star. They had her in their advertisement as well as signing autographs. Talkers got an autograph but missed out the photo op: we were barred when trying to get a selfie and a little chit-chat with the lady. It seemed that the guy, the exhibitionist, from the mainland, is after all… a jealous guy.
Cap for each and all
Talkers got a deep inside source in some inspection saying that the 3% annual cap on new green tables is for…each. Now, it’s only logical. If Galaxy 2 gets 150, almost the cap for the year (175) that would leave 25 for the 400 table-strong Studio City, right? Wrong. Studio city is allowed another…150 about. And so on and so forth. Problem solved. Next!
Crossing barometer
Comes a long weekend and – boom – Thursdays downtown become unbearable. Talkers would suggest analysts from all the investment and financial institutions set up an observatory here, near us, just pick a corner on the crossing at San Malo and Praia Grande and start counting. Any given Thursday. We’re sure then you could give some great advice to your clients.
Lawyers’ awards
And the award goes to… Talkers was last week at the central table at the Lawyers Annual Dinner, and the funny thing is we walked out of there with 2 iPhone6+ and a bag of tablets. Why? Well, when the biggest awards started to be drawn, first goes to … table one, number one. Top lawyer Neto Valente gets an iPhone. But as a magnanimous gesture put it back into the raffle. Guess who got the next iPhone? Ms Helena Senna Fernandes, the gentle MGTO director. And…back to the draw. That was it! Thank you!
