The Buzz | Rotaract Club inaugurates Field Hockey For All

h-box-Photo-1The Rotaract Club of Macau held the opening ceremony of the inaugural “Field Hockey for All 2015–2016”, a one-year training program, on Saturday at Escola Secundaria Luso-Chinesa de Luis Gonzaga. Participants will receive training classes in field hockey twice a month over a six-month period, regular practice with the team, and friendly matches with other Macau and Hong Kong-based hockey associations. The one-year program is open to local residents aged between 16 and 30 years of age.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Maria de Fatima Salvador dos Santos Ferreira, president of Macau’s Fu Hong Society General Assembly, and Jo Jo Cheok, an executive manager for the society. Filipe Fernandes, president of the Macau Hockey Association, and Cathy Lo, president of the Rotaract Club of Macau, also oversaw the event.
Participants can enroll in the program at a cost of MOP100, and proceeds will be donated to the Fu Hong Society. Apart from raising funds for the local community, organizers hope that the activity “boosts the public’s attention towards [an inclusive] society.”
