About 9,000 tickets have already been sold for the 28th International Music Festival, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has said. In a statement, the IC revealed that some of the shows are even sold out.
This year’s edition of the popular event is taking place between October 3 and November 1. St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Russia’s oldest symphony ensemble, and American musician Laurie Anderson are some of the program’s highlights. Laurie Anderson will perform on October 18 at Mount Fortress, while St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert will take place on October 15.
Tickets are sold out for the concert featuring the Chinese Music Orchestra of the Jiangsu Provincial Performing Arts Group, as well as for the piano recital by Zygmunt Krauze, for the Italian chamber music ensemble I Musici’s performance of “The Four Seasons,” and for the Oscars and Cartoon Fantasy event.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau said that there are a few tickets left for the opening show, Vincenzo Bellini’s Opera “Norma,” as well as for the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra concert, for the musical “Hairspray,” and for the show Macau Chinese Orchestra invites George Lam, among others.
The free tickets for three concerts taking place at S. Domingos church have also been distributed. Over 50 percent of the tickets for Il Maestro di Musica – Intermezzo by Giovanni Battista Martini, for Anthology by Anonymous 4, and for Shanghai Quartet have been sold.
