P001-(2)melco supports local organic vegetable consumption and production

Leveraging the experiential agricultural land at the Macau University of Science and Technology, Melco Crown Entertainment has been promoting the consumption and production of locally grown organic vegetables to its employees and the local community.
Through practicing farming in Macau, participants, including Melco volunteers and community organizations, learned the benefits of organic and locally grown vegetables to the environment and consumers.
Melco has actively engaged the local community with organic farming. MCE volunteers assisted members from the Fuhong Society of Macau’s Yee Lok Center and Macau Teen Challenge to plant seeds for the next crop. The Macau Autism Association was invited to harvest the crops with their families, with some of the produce donated to elderly people who live alone. These activities will continue throughout the year to mid-2016.
