Senior leaders from Melco Resorts & Entertainment attended the opening of Macau’s annual National Security Education Exhibition, which coincides with National Security Education Day.
Between 2019 to 2023, nearly 2,300 Melco employees participated in the exhibition in person or online to better understand national security issues, the gaming operator said in a statement. The visits complement Melco’s “Splendors of China” program that promotes national pride and patriotism through education.
At the opening event, the SAR government and Liaison Office presented awards for a creative essay and video competition themed “My Notion of National Cyber Security.” Melco dealer Juan Zhou received an award for her outstanding secondary education category essay, selected from 22,000 submissions.
Launched in 2016, “Splendors of China” comprises mandatory courses, electives, exhibitions and community events promoting “Loving the Country, Loving Macau” through education on Chinese culture, history and modernization. Over 10,000 Melco employees annually complete the associated “Splendors of China Passport Program.”
