A taste of traditional Mozambican cuisine

The Mozambique Friends’ Association is organizing an event aimed at promoting traditional foods, to be held between June 18 and 28.  This event will mark the 40th anniversary of the Republic of Mozambique, after it gained independence from Portugal in 1975.
Chef Carlos Khan da Graça will be preparing a set of Mozambican delicacies at the Café Bela Vista (Grand Lapa Hotel). The 40th anniversary of the Republic of Mozambique will be formally celebrated on June 26 at Café Bela Vista.
A selection of traditional dishes as part of a dinner buffet will be available between June 18 and 21, as well as on June 25, 27 and 28. A semi-buffet lunch option will be available between June 18 and 28. In addition, there will be a “Mozambique Dinner set menu” on June 22, 23 and 24.
Chef Carlos Khan da Graça was born in Quelimane, in northern Mozambique. Regarded as a true expert in the African nation’s cuisine, he intends to showcase a wide range of national dishes from across the country.
The Mozambique Traditional Cuisine Promotion will also feature Mozambican music, which will be played during meals.
The event is organized by the Mozambican Association, in cooperation with Grand Lapa.
