Art Venice collective exhibition at Albergue SCM

b1A new exhibition at the Albergue SCM titled “Travel Notes • Venice – Collective Exhibition on the Subject of Macau’s Participation in the Venice Art Biennale 2015” is set to open on  July 15.
The exhibition is the result of a sponsorship program launched by Albergue SCM, which has allowed 11 local young artists to visit the Venice Biennale and to attend the opening of the local exhibition. Surrounded by Venice’s appealing scenery, they produced several impromptu artworks with paintbrushes and lenses, and these will now be showcased.
Members of the Macau Museum of Art and the Committee of Cultural Industries who attended the opening of the local exhibition “Path and Adventure – Works by Mio Pang Fei” were also invited to display the artworks they created in Venice. The show will display various types of works, including installations, watercolors and photography.
The exhibition will be held between July 15 and 31 in the A2 Gallery of the Albergue SCM, and admission is free.

111IC unveils three-dimensional heritage models

In order to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Macau being recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has unveiled four three-dimensional models representing listed sites, namely St Joseph’s Church, the Mandarin’s House, the A-Ma Temple and the D. Pedro V Theater.
According to a statement issued by IC, “by building the World Heritage models, the citizens will be able to deepen their knowledge of the buildings and to experience their beauty and Macau characteristics, where Eastern and Western cultures mix.” PB
