CE adopts new, broader method for collecting public opinion

Chief Executive (CE) Sam Hou Fai is collecting public opinion ahead of the 2027 Policy Address and, for the first time, has adopted a new method to gather feedback more broadly.

This year, until Sept. 23, the CE has opened channels for individual residents to participate, allowing them to share feedback and opinions via the Macao One Account and other direct channels, including email and phone.

In the past, opinion collection ahead of the policy address was conducted exclusively through sectoral meetings with associations and groups considered representative of the community. This approach created some discomfort in society and was later justified by the lack of time to hear from everyone before the policy address.

According to a statement from the Government Information Bureau (GCS), the government will “extensively solicit opinions from various sectors of society and the general public” during the one-month consultation period, with the aim of building social consensus.

During this period, residents may submit their opinions on the government’s policy priorities for the coming year via the website (www.mo.gov.mo) and the Macao One Account mobile app.

In the same GCS statement, the government invited all sectors of society and the general public to actively participate in the public consultation by “offering constructive opinions and suggestions on the government’s policy directions for the year 2027.” Rm
