A job fair organized by the Jinan University in Guangzhou saw 23 enterprises within the Greater Bay Area (GBA) advertising more than 600 working and 300 internship positions. To date, this is the largest fair targeting students from Macau.
The advertised positions covered areas such as entertainment and gaming, finance, culture, medicine, insurance, and information technology.
Several hundred Macau students attended the fair, and many were asked to leave their contact information for further communications.
GBA companies are hiring people from cities within the area. While Macau companies were present at the fair, many companies from elsewhere in the region were also trying to attract candidates from Macau. An attendee from Macau pointed out that many of his fellow students had chosen to pursue careers in Guangzhou after graduation.
Additionally, Macau students studying at Jinan University enjoy the right to do an internship in the free-trade areas in Guangzhou’s Nansha, Shenzhen’s Qianhai, and Hengqin. After the internship, they may continue their work with the companies in question provided their work is satisfactory.
