Green fair focuses on waste management

The 2016 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition (MIECF) will be held at the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel from March 31 to April 2.
Themed “Green Economy – Opportunities for Waste Management,” the event serves as a multilateral platform for exchanges on eco-friendly commerce and technology in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region and international markets.
According to a statement by the organizers this week, the fair will feature various activities, seminars and presentations to strengthen commercial and technological exchanges on regional advances in environmental protection. This will promote cooperation and development in international environmental protection, publicize environmental protection concepts, and create business opportunities in the environmental industry.
Last year, the MIECF Green Showcase took place in an area of around 16,900 square meters and attracted more than 9,600 visitors over three days. More than 3,600 people from nine countries attended the forum, which featured talks by more than 50 environmental pioneers, leaders of multi-national environmental enterprises and regional policymakers.
The event will be hosted by the local government and coordinated by the Environmental Protection Bureau and the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute.
