The Health Bureau (SSM) yesterday reported six clusters of influenza-like illness, involving students who developed fever and respiratory symptoms such as cough starting Apr.17. A total of 48 students were affected across the six outbreaks, with most cases presenting mild symptoms. One patient required hospitalization and is currently in stable condition, while no severe cases or major complications have been reported. According to the bureau, respiratory samples from the clusters identified 28 cases positive for Influenza B virus. Health authorities said affected institutions have implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfection measures, improved indoor ventilation, and strict isolation protocols for infected individuals to prevent further transmission.
