Group calls for casino advertisement regulation

The Macau Responsible Gaming Association (MRGA) has urged the Macau government to strengthen the regulations on casino advertisement. The president of the MRGA, Song Wai Kit, claimed that the amount of gambling related commercials has reached an excessive level.
He also pointed out that some of the advertisements in Macau are not even promoting local casinos. Song Wai Kit hopes that the government will set up departments to review the contents of the commercials.
Alternatively, while concurring that there is the necessity to review the current advertising regulations, the chairman of the Association of Advertising Agents of Macau, Wong I Moon believes that the law should not over-regulate the industry and choke the creativity of the agencies.
According to the current law, it is forbidden to promote gambling directly in a commercial or show gambling equipment in it.
