Helicopter services could be available as early as the second half of 2025 at Taipa’s ferry terminal, according to a Civil Aviation Authority official. Fong Wai Long, vice president of the AACM, told lawmakers recently authorities have been communicating with service operators to increase flight routes and destinations based on market demand starting in 2025. Since the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, demand for helicopter flights has decreased under less favorable conditions, the official said. The discussion emerged as lawmakers explored developing a “low-altitude economy,” revolving around manned and unmanned aviation in low altitudes. Safety concerns include Macau’s limited airspace and high building and population density.
