Jay-Z’s got 99 problems but Woodstock isn’t one: The rap king has pulled out of the 50th anniversary Woodstock festival just weeks before the troubled event is supposed to take place.

Jay-Z will no longer close the three-day festival scheduled for Aug. 16-18, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on Friday, speaking on condition of anonymity because they weren’t allowed to discuss the plans publicly.

The news comes on the same day that John Fogerty, who performed at the original 1969 festival with Creedence Clearwater Revival, pulled out of the anniversary event.

Representatives for Woodstock 50 and festival co-founder Michael Lang said they had no comment about Jay-Z and Fogerty’s decision to back out of the festival.

Woodstock 50 has faced a series of setbacks in the last few months, including permit denials and the loss of a financial partner and a production company. No venue has been publicly announced and tickets have yet to go on sale.

Anne Hathaway: ‘Modern Love’ role gave her more compassion

Anne Hathaway says playing a bipolar character in Amazon’s new series “Modern Love” affected her emotionally long after she wrapped the role.

Hathaway plays Terry Cheney, a woman navigating romance with bipolar disorder, in an episode of the anthology. The series, based on The New York Times’ column of the same name, debuts Oct. 18.

At a Television Critics Association meeting Saturday, Hathaway said the role gave her a heightened compassion for people with mental illnesses who can’t walk away once the cameras stop rolling. She said she hopes telling stories like Cheney’s will open up the conversation surrounding mental illness.

After reflecting on her role, Hathaway lightened the mood when she was asked how she feels about her newly announced second pregnancy.

“How do you think?” she replied, smiling.

Amazon’s new ‘Making the Cut’ is global in fashion, commerce

Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke told a TV critics meeting Saturday that there’s an international field of designers in the upcoming competition series.

That makes them a match for the streaming service’s global audience, who serve as viewers and potential customers: Fashion seen on “Making the Cut” will be available to buy on Amazon.

Salke said the series has an international look. It was shot in Tokyo, New York and Paris, with a catwalk staged in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn and Chiara Ferragni are the hosts of the series coming in 2020.

Amazon said the winner gets $1 million for brand investment.
