Melco Resorts & Entertainment sponsored a special session of Macau’s inaugural World Cultural Heritage immersive theatre performance, “The Banquet of Zheng Family.”
The event, held at the historic Mandarin’s House in São Lourenço Parish, was part of Melco’s Splendors of China nationalistic learning program. The immersive experience allowed audiences to delve into the sentiments of historical figures and deepen their understanding of China’s rich history.
More than 60 Melco staff and their families attended the session, which featured Cheong Man Fai, head of education and youth development department, as event guest.
“The Banquet of Zheng Family,” guided by the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, was funded by the Macau Cultural Development Fund and received support from the Macao Government Tourism Office and Cultural Affairs Bureau.
Akiko Takahashi, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff to Melco Chairman & CEO, expressed “excitement about the production of a World Cultural Heritage immersive drama in Macau.”
The Banquet of Zheng Family pays homage to Zheng Guanying, a prominent figure of the late Qing dynasty, and highlights the historical significance of the residence.
