New legal deposit requirements established for local publications
Publishers in Macau must submit two copies of all published works to the Department of Public Library Management within five days of publication, as per revised Decree-law No. 72/89/M. This includes all print and electronic materials intended for sale or free distribution. Non-compliance may result in fines between 200 and 2,000 patacas. The Cultural Affairs Bureau emphasizes adherence to these regulations to safeguard Macau’s literary and cultural output.
