Nursery to be installed in USJ’s NAPE campus

The Macau diocese is planning to open and run a nursery at the USJ campus in NAPE once the university moves to its new campus, still under construction in Ilha Verde, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Alexis Tam, announced yesterday.
The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) is in talks with the Macau diocese for the opening of the nursery, said Mr Tam on the sidelines of a visit to the new University of Saint Joseph campus.
“Our cooperation with USJ is good. When these new facilities are completed, part of the current campus will accommodate a nursery, as Macau is in great need of more nurseries,” he told reporters.
The Secretary said they’re still holding talks regarding the nursery, but he’s hopeful it can open next year. Mr Tam stated that the new nursery is set to accommodate at least one hundred children.
