Over 1,000 business matching sessions during joint exhibitions

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has said that 1,100 business-matching sessions were held at the three joint exhibitions this year, an increase of 30% compared to last year.

Three exhibitions opened concurrently on Thursday in the SAR, aiming to power the growth of Macau’s key industries and contribute to China’s “dual circulation” economic development pattern.

The exhibitions include 1st China-Portuguese-Speaking Countries (PSCs) Economic and Trade Expo (Macao) (C-PLPEX), the 28th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) and the Macao Franchise Expo 2023 (MFE).

The first three days saw 101 signings, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year. Among them, two mainland provinces have agreed to cooperate with two Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) in purchasing sugar and bulk agricultural products, according to IPIM president U U Sang.

IPIM said that more than 60,000 people attended the three exhibitions.

Taking up a total area of 37,000 square meters, the three exhibitions have attracted over 1,200 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions to attend the offline events, more than 260 of which come from PSCs, hitting an all-time high with respect to the number of exhibitors and brands, according to the IPIM.

Over 60 activities were held during the exhibitions, in the form of themed business matching sessions, conferences, forums, promotion conferences, new product launches, multi-venue events and community tours. Staff Reporter
