Macau travelers can now leave their cars near the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and reach Hong Kong International Airport within 30 minutes, thanks to the new “Park and Fly” service launched on Saturday.
The Transport Bureau (DSAT) reported that over 4,700 private vehicles from Macau had registered by Friday, with around 20 Macau-registered cars using the service on its first day.
The service operates from an automated five-story car park near the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, open 24/7, currently offering 1,800 parking spaces, with plans to expand to 3,000 spaces in the future, though no specific timeline has been provided.
The main benefit for Macau travelers is skipping Hong Kong immigration and reaching airport check-in counters quickly.
Mable Chan, Hong Kong Secretary for Transport and Logistics, called the launch a “historic moment” on Saturday.
Initially, parking fees are HKD100 for the first three days per booking, and HKD50 per day thereafter, with HKD100 per drop-off or pick-up.
Vivian Cheung, CEO of the Airport Authority Hong Kong, emphasized the convenience for Greater Bay Area passengers: “Park and Fly provides Macau travelers an efficient, seamless way to reach the airport while driving themselves.”
The car park is fully automated. Passengers leave their cars in designated spots, then take a bonded bus to the SkyPier Terminal inside the airport’s restricted zone to check in and drop off baggage without passing through Hong Kong immigration.
Returning travelers confirm bookings at Terminal 1 and retrieve vehicles via the automated system after a bonded bus ride.
No Hong Kong driving license or vehicle registration plate is required. DSAT urges Macau drivers to register early due to high expected demand.
