Smoking spat leads to knife threat

A jobless local man in his 60s was referred to the Public Prosecutions Office after allegedly threatening a shop owner with a cleaver in a smoking dispute. The incident occurred last week in the city center. Police said the suspect was upset about customers smoking outside his building and the removal of his no-smoking sign. He reportedly brandished a cleaver and damaged store property. A 19.5cm knife was seized, and the man admitted to the crime.
