Surge in cross-border traffic and commercial flights

Cross-border vehicular traffic surged 19.1% year-on-year to 872,900 trips by January 2025, while commercial flights increased 10.4% to 4,961. Passenger ferry trips also rose 9.5% to 6,997. Meanwhile, the city recorded 253,639 licensed motor vehicles, up 1%, though new registrations fell 16.5% to 1,106. Cargo volumes declined, with land-based containerized cargo dropping 15.5% and air cargo down 17.4%.
