Tencent Cloud promotes AI tools to support GBA youth development

Tencent Cloud highlighted the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in developing digital skills among young people in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area at a youth forum in Hong Kong on Aug. 10.
Speaking at the 8th Greater Bay Area Youth New Opportunities Forum, Freda Xu, vice president of marketing at Tencent Cloud and Smart Industries Group, said AI is changing how young people learn and work by reducing the time required for repetitive tasks and allowing them to focus on analysis and decision-making.
The company cited its AI-assisted coding tool CodeBuddy and desktop AI agent WorkBuddy as examples of technologies being used beyond traditional technical roles.
The company also said its Tencent Cloud Hackathon has attracted more than 10,000 developers globally, generating over 1,000 submissions. The Hong Kong and Macau regional Demo Day and judging event is scheduled for Aug. 18 in Hong Kong.
Tencent Cloud said it plans to continue supporting AI skills development through education partnerships, developer programs and technology initiatives across the region.
