Trump: Brussels the result of lack of assimilation

Leading U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Tuesday’s attacks in Brussels that killed at least 34 people are the result of unassimilated Muslims refusing to turn in terrorists living in their midst.
“There is no assimilation, very little assimilation for whatever reason,” Trump said in an interview with ITV’s Good Morning Britain. “They want to go by their own sets of laws.”
“What is going on there and what is going on in many other locations, like Paris and others, is a disgrace, an absolute disgrace that we allow it to happen,” Trump said, according to an e-mailed transcript.
Asked for a message to British Muslims, he said: “When they see trouble, they have to report it, they’re absolutely not reporting it and that’s a big problem.” Trump, who last year called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S., said he had “great respect” for Muslims and had many Muslim friends.
Trump said countries in the region had to provide the troops to fight Islamic State on the ground, but as president he’d provide “back up like you’ve never seen before, in terms of air power, air strikes. And you’ve got to take them out and you’ve got to take them out harshly and you’ve got to take them out fast.” Bloomberg
