Waterfront promenade opens today

The Leisure Area of Kun Iam Statue Waterfront will commence trial operation today following a delay in opening due to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) built the leisure area with a total area of ​​about 15,000 square meters last year on the waterfront, extending from the Macao Science Center to the Kun Iam Statue. It has a waterfront walking trail, multi-functional court, gateball court, roller skating rink, and other fitness and leisure facilities. The children’s playground of about 2,700 square meters is equipped with parent-child play facilities and other novel amusement facilities, and is divided into several areas for children.

DSPA, CEM drills on sudden incident response

The Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) and the Macau Electricity Company (CEM) have conducted four drills this year to test the system’s immediate response to sudden incidents. The drills were conducted in preparation for the upcoming tropical cyclone season. In the drill, conducted this month, the two entities simulated setting up water blockers, the announcement of a power cut, and the immediate repair and restoration of power supply. The two entities held meetings afterwards to fine-tune any areas necessary.
