266 players to participate in local badminton open

£®Ã”˝£©”√´«Ú°™°™∞ƒ√≈¥ÛΩ±»¸£∫ÀÔÕͪ¢ƒ–µ•∂·π⁄This year’s Macau Open Badminton will feature a total of 266 players from 20 countries and regions, including China, the UK, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, and Malaysia.
Part of the BWF Grand Prix Gold Series, the tournament organized by the Badminton Federation of Macau is being held this month, from November 24 to 29 at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion. The international sporting event is described by organizers as a way to provide opportunities for Macau spectators to witness the world’s top players and to enhance the popularity of the sport within the SAR.
The Macau team for this year consists of six male players and six female players who will participate in all categories except for the Mixed doubles.
The competition will be held across six days, where the respective stages of the five separate tournaments will be held in daily synchronization. The qualifying rounds will take place on November 24 with the following two days reserved for the Rounds of 32 and Rounds of 16, respectively. The Quarter Finals will be held on November 27, the Semi-Finals on November 28, and the Finals and Prize Awarding Ceremonies on November 29.
The 10th Macau Open Badminton is the 11th BWF Grand Prix Gold Series tournament, one level below the Super Series, with the total prize money of MOP 1 million this year. The world ranking points of this tournament will also be included in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Qualification Period.
Tickets for these events range from MOP150 to MOP400 per person per day, depending on the date. Macau residents are entitled to receive a 50 percent discount, whereas non-residents can enjoy a 20 percent discount if they book before November 22.
