Ted Chan, chief operating officer of Melco Crown has resigned “for personal reasons,” the company announced last night in a note to the stock exchange. Lawrence Ho, Melco Crown’s CEO, said that he will “personally take on day-to-day operational leadership.” The casino operator “is not naming a replacement COO. The company is using this opportunity to transform its leadership structure in a manner designed to streamline operations.” Melco Crown Entertainment “has been actively evaluating its operations to optimize financial performance with a focus on improving its marketing initiatives and creating a more efficient reporting structure,” the note reads.

IC continues selection for design subsidy program

The Cultural Affairs Bureau proceedings of the second review of the 2016 Subsidy Program for Fashion Design and Sample Making will be held this Sunday. According to the bureau’s statement, a total of 24 applications were received, from which 15 fashion design works were selected for the second review. The second review, a closed-door session, will be held at the Dom Pedro V Theatre Mirror Hall. As a result, the hall will be closed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. although the other facilities of the theatre will remain open to the public.
