Cristina Morais who was the coordinator of the Support Office to the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese Speaking Countries (Macau Forum) has been reassigned, according to an order of the Macau Secretary for Economy and Finance.
The order from Secretary Leong Vai Tac moved Cristina Morais for a period of one year to the position of head of the Department of External Economic Relations of the Macau Economic Office. Her time in this position began on 3 November, immediately following the end of her term (November 2) as a coordinator connected to the Forum .
After replacing Echo Chan as coordinator of the Support Office to the Permanent Secretariat of Macau Forum in 2015, Morais now returns to the position she held from 2009 until November 2015. Her connection with the department began in 2003 when she was appointed as the interim head of this department.
The Macau Forum, was created through a Chinese government initiative in October 2003 in coordination with seven Portuguese-speaking countries; Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and East Timor, as well as the collaboration of the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region.
The Macau Forum is a multilateral cooperation mechanism aimed at the consolidation of economic and trade exchange between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, using Macau as a connecting platform.  MDT/Macauhub
