Anton Tai leads delegation to visit European countries

Led by Secretary for Economy and Finance Anton Tai Kin Ip, the Macau government delegation recently embarked on an official visit to France, Monaco, and Luxembourg.
According to a statement from Tai’s office earlier this week, between April 25 and May 2, the delegation met with representatives from the Greater Paris Investment Agency, attended the “Monaco Clean Fusion Forum” co-hosted by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, and held meetings with representatives from the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry, Luxembourg for Finance, and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, among others.
The statement quoted Tai as noting during his meetings with the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry, Luxembourg for Finance, and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, his hope to draw on Luxembourg’s experience and leverage its capabilities to expand international cooperation for Macau’s central securities depository system.
He also invited Luxembourg to share its successful practices in green bonds with Macau’s financial sector.
Additionally, he expressed his desire to discuss topics related to the listing and trading of Macau bonds on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, the establishment of subsequent trading conditions, and cooperation in financial talent training. The goal is to promote the development of the Macau bond market and cultivate financial talent.
Tai led the government delegation on visits to Paris on April 25; Monaco from April 26 to 29; and Luxembourg from April 29 to May 2.
The statement highlighted that the aim was to deepen existing cooperation between Macau and European countries in the fields of scientific and technological innovation, economic and trade connectivity, and finance, while also exploring opportunities for diversified development.
