Briefs | IPIM brings 46 local enterprises to int’l import expo

 

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has organised 46 enterprises from Macau to exhibit at the China International Import Expo (CIIE). Participating entrepreneurs agreed that they had achieved their expected results, and gained an understanding of the latest business and industry developments from various regions through exchanges of ideas. The 4th CIIE is held from November 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai. Nearly one third of Macau’s enterprises are joining the event for the first time this year.

MGTO awards 10 content creator trainees

Ten trainees were designated “Outstanding Content Creators on Tourism” in the “Incubation Plan for Macao’s KOL in Tourism” at an award ceremony held at the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre on Saturday. The incubation plan was organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) in coordination with the Macau Live Streaming Association. Under the plan, trainees were enrolled for the content creation camp with the aim of encouraging Macau residents to use their content creation skills to highlight the city as a “wonderful destination with diverse travel experiences to offer.” MGTO and the association had enrolled 50 trainees for the content creation training camp of the incubation plan.

SMG discusses typhoon and storm surge with GBA counterparts

At the recent Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Meteorological Technology Conference, the Meteorological and Geophysics Bureau had discussions with its counterparts within the region regarding the weather phenomena most common to Macau, such as typhoons and storm surges. Bureau Director Leong Weng Kun presented on the modes of tropical cyclone and storm surges, extreme rainfall and high temperatures, as well as meteorological services for the Macau International Airport. The conference is an annual event held to discuss development, collaborations and implementation of projects, among other topics.
