Views Of Cathay Airlines At Hong Kong International Airport Ahead of EarningsCathay Pacific Airways announced yesterday that it has expanded the code-sharing agreement with the Flybe Group, enabling passengers travelling from Hong Kong to be connected to to four destinations in the United Kingdom (UK) via Amsterdam or Paris. Flybe is a British regional airline group based in Exeter in the south-west of England.
Under the new code-sharing agreement, Cathay Pacific’s “CX” code will be used on selected Flybe flights between Amsterdam and Birmingham / Southampton, and between Paris and Birmingham / Manchester / Exeter. Tickets for the new code-sharing services will be available from Jan. 12, 2015.
According to Xinhua, “the arrangement will provide more choice, greater convenience and improved connectivity for passengers traveling through the Hong Kong hub to the UK.”
This also marks the first time that Birmingham has been included in Cathay Pacific’s code-sharing network. Passengers traveling to and from the city – located in the West Midlands – can take advantage of this new arrangement. Cathay Pacific and Flybe already have a code-sharing agreement covering selected Flybe domestic flights between Manchester and seven destinations in the UK, namely Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Exeter, Inverness, the Isle of Man and Southampton.
