Staff & clients of local property company JML Property stepped up fundraising efforts on Sat 21st March with a ‘Trail & Stair’ challenge hiking and running through the Coloane trails to raise money for Macau charities and associations. The route was a 15km trail through the Coloane landscape including over 1,500 feet of ascent and descent.
Last year JML raised well over MOP100,000 in donations and are still hoping to break through the $100,000 barrier this year. Clients and friends have been the main sponsors, and chief corporate sponsors include Zung Fu Mercedes Benz, Macau Golf & Country Club, Lou Sio Fong Lawyer & Associates, WH Furniture and Inception.
A spokesperson from JML said, “We worked with the local community to identify areas needing support and the generosity of all of the sponsors has enabled sizeable donations to each of the chosen charities. We are very happy to be associated with Caritas School for Handicapped Children (Escola Caritas de Macau) as well as the Cradle of Hope and other worthwhile organizations”.
Funds have also been passed to the Macau Deaf Association, and EF Orphanage. Other organizations supported include the Good Shepherd Centre in their awareness campaign around Domestic Violence in Macau.
JML Property Managing Director, Keith Lawson said, “It’s a great pleasure for us to be able to make a positive contribution. Family, friends and clients are always very generous and we are lucky to receive so much support”. He also stated, “Whilst raising funds is an important goal, its also about raising awareness and coming together as a community to make a difference, to try to help in any way we can”.
JML Property Director, Juliet Risdon likewise added, “We can’t thank enough everyone who supported the event with donations, fundraising efforts and participation. The effort this year was again absolutely fantastic, it’s only because of this generosity and support that the event was such a success”.
