Sands China’s local supplier support program is gaining momentum, with over 200 new local suppliers having been added to the list following August’s Sands China Local Supplier Open Day.
As of October 31, the Company has invited new local suppliers for bidding, including 170 small and micro companies, six “Made in Macau” companies, and three dozen of Macau’s young entrepreneurs.
This is the result of previous collaboration between the company and the Macau Chamber of Commerce, which identified three types of local companies that Sands China could support.
According to a press release issued by Sands China, the company has contacted most of the new suppliers, noting their resources, capabilities, and status. It plans to start the first phase of business with purchases from 40 of the new suppliers. The purchase amount is estimated to reach nearly MOP10 million by the end of December.
