Sands China Ltd. marked Earth Day this year with its “Clean the Office” campaign for the second year running, recycling more than 1,000 kilograms of waste.
From April 20 to 26, team members from more than 40 different departments participated in the campaign, sending various types of waste to be recycled.
Volunteers brought in items such as batteries, electronic devices, light bulbs and printer cartridges, along with various papers, plastics and metals.
In support of Earth Day, the company’s week-long campaign was aimed at recycling and reducing waste, one of the projects of Sands ECO360°, the global sustainability strategy of its parent company, Las Vegas Sands Corp.
Measures by Sands ECO360° saved 90 million gallons of water in 2015. Moreover, the firm said that five hotels on Sands China properties are recipients of the Macau SAR government’s Macau Green Hotel Award, all in the highest category of Gold.

Wynn Palace hosted a “Pre-opening Team Appreciation Day” yesterday, aiming to show the company’s gratitude to their team of over 3,000 members, including those who are waiting to commence duties, for the support they have provided.
According to a statement by the gaming operator, Wynn has also joined efforts with the Richmond Fellowship of Macau, an association that has been undertaking pioneer work among the mentally challenged community in Macau.
To continue Wynn’s commitment to hiring locals as a priority, a referral program followed by on-the-spot interviews was a central element of the event.
The company stated that every team member was given the opportunity to present local candidates for the more than 50 position categories on offer in departments such as Food and Beverage, Facilities, Hotel Operations, and Security, among others.
Candidates who successfully passed the interviews were offered positions immediately, while team members who referred the successful candidates will be rewarded with a bonus.
