Cake cuttingWith Sands Macao turning 11 this month, the hotel and entertainment complex is celebrating – with its team members and with the handing out of complimentary meal gift packs to Macau taxi drivers.
On Monday, the special meal gift packs were offered to taxi drivers arriving at the hotel. It is an annual tradition for Sands Macao to show appreciation to local cab drivers as part of its anniversary celebrations – a custom in place since the opening of the hotel and entertainment complex in 2004.
Sands Macao team members marked the anniversary behind the scenes as well, with a celebration that included the first semi-final of a new self-learning platform – “Because We Know” Sands China Product Knowledge Competition. Through an online quiz game, team members have been increasing their knowledge about the company. Six team members won a prize of a Sands Macao 11th anniversary gold-plated pixiu (a feng shui charm resembling a winged lion) by correctly answering questions about the company.
A lucky draw session also gave out additional prizes to team members that included food and beverage vouchers, show tickets and accommodation at Sands Macao. The celebrations ended with a cake-cutting ceremony.
Ciaran Carruthers, Senior Vice President and Director of Venetian and Plaza Operations, Sands China Ltd said: “It’s been 11 years since Sands Macao first opened and marked the start of a new era in Macau. We have come as far as we have because of the hard work and dedication of you, our team members. Sands Macao continues to be a success because of your efforts, and the entire company thanks you for it.”
