The Unitary Police Service announced in a statement that the annual Civil Protection drill “Crystal Fish” 2025 will occur on April 26.

According to the same statement, the drill aims to strengthen the capacity for joint action in response to emergencies and raise general public awareness of disaster prevention.

The whole civil protection structure will be mobilized for the drill, which will occur concurrently in several Peninsula and Islands locations.

Among the different aspects to be tested will continue to be the “Plan for evacuating low-lying areas in storm surge situations during typhoons.” As in previous years, this plan will require the participation of residents, with those interested in taking part in the exercise able to register at the Social Welfare Bureau website (www.ias.gov.mo) or, in person, at the following locations: Mong-Há Community Center of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, Integrated Family Support Services Center – Source of Joy and Energy, Fai Chi Kei Family and Community Services Complex of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions, “Joy in Harmony” Multiple Family Support Center of the Macau General Women’s Association and Yan Kei Senior Citizens Center of the Lutheran Mission of Hong Kong and Macau, until April 22.

This year’s edition will continue to include the participation of members of the Civil Protection Community Liaison Mechanism and civil protection volunteer groups to increase the preparedness of those groups and coordination with the security forces.
