A total of 7,000 patacas will be disbursed in 2024 to eligible individuals with individual accounts under the non-mandatory central pension scheme, according to the Official Gazette. This decision comes after the proposal to reinstate funding for the pension scheme was included in the approved budget for the the SAR in 2024. The allocation has been halted since 2020, primarily due to the pandemic. This marks the 12th instance of the government’s injection of funds into the scheme.
