Gov’t commissions study on increasing leave benefits,

The Labour Affairs Bureau has commissioned an independent third party to study increasing maternity and annual leave, with plans for public consultation and discussion at the Labour Advisory Committee. On part-time work regulation, the bureau said consensus is lacking and further consideration is needed. From January 2024 to May 2025, 874 inspections led to 856 administrative penalties for illegal labor activities and the revocation of over 1,100 work permits for irregular use.
