A man who fell to his death at an office building located in Hong Kong’s business district was an Industrial Bank Co. employee, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
A 31-year-old man was certified dead at the scene at Citibank Plaza in the Central district yesterday morning, a police spokeswoman said by phone. Initial investigation indicated it was over a personal issue, the spokeswoman said, asking not to be identified, citing the police force’s rules.
The man was a vice president at the bank in Hong Kong, the people said, asking not to be identified as it’s a private matter.
Citibank Plaza is an office complex that comprises Citibank Tower and ICBC Tower. The Hong Kong office of Industrial Bank is located on the 39th floor of ICBC Tower, according to the website of the Hong Kong Association of Banks. The bank opened its first branch in Hong Kong in March 2014.
