IFFAM | In Busan, Macau organizers announce special anniversary program

The Organizing Committee of the Fourth International Film Festival and Awards – Macao (IFFAM) has announced, on the sidelines of the Opening of Busan International Film Festival, that this year IFFAM would feature a series of presentations related to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR).

As announced by the organizers in a statement, the presentations will be one of the special highlights of this year’s program.

The announcement was made at the Busan International Film Festival in Korea, where the organizing committee of IFFAM also took the opportunity to meet with the recently announced Talent Ambassador for this year, Kim Jun-myeon (Suho), who also attended the opening ceremony of the festival.

For the special program, the organizers included a selection of local films that will be screened in this non-competition section. Besides marking the celebratory date, showcasing creative industries in Macau and paying tribute to the city’s film industry, this screening aims to draw attention to local film productions, putting them on an international stage.

Organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Macau Films & Television Productions and Culture Association, IFFAM is committed to becoming a major gathering for international filmmakers to enhance cultural exchange, while advancing Asian film talent and film works on the global stage.

As an event that is already part of the annual international event calendar, IFFAM aims to push forward the development of local film, cultural and creative industries, as well as pave the way for a broader development of cultural, artistic and tourism-related platforms, among others.

Besides the novelty of the “20th Anniversary Macao Special Presentations,” this year’s IFFAM will feature different sections, such as an International Competition, New Chinese Cinema, World Panorama, Flying Daggers, Gala, Special Presentations, Director’s Choice and Shorts Competition.

The Fourth IFFAM will take place from December 5 to 10 this year. RM
