Inflation slightly rises 0.25% in June, driven by recreation and dining costs

The Composite Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.25% year-on-year in June and edged up 0.04% month-on-month, according to the Statistics and Census Service. The annual increase was driven by higher prices in recreation, sports, and culture (+3.42%), dining out and takeaways (+0.20%), and rental costs (+0.18%). Meanwhile, prices in information, communication, and clothing dropped. Year-to-date, the average CPI rose 0.19% compared to the same period last year, with inflation for June recorded at 0.34% on an annualized basis.
