The Health Bureau reported that, from late September 2023 to Aug. 18 of this year, 175,000 residents in Macau received the influenza vaccine, marking a 19.1% increase from the previous year. Vaccination rates for children reached 56.9%, while rates for kindergarten, primary, and middle school students were 81.3%, 78.7%, and 67.3%, respectively. Institutional staff had a high vaccination rate of 91.6%. The bureau emphasized that a robust protection network has been established. However, it noted low vaccination rates for tetanus, cough, and measles among adults, urging those in need to promptly vaccinate themselves.
