Macau braces for heavy rain as low-pressure system monitored

The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) warned that a low-pressure system west of Luzon in the Philippines could develop into a tropical cyclone within 800 km of Macau over the next day or two. The system is expected to move toward the Hainan Island area later this week. SMG issued a special notice, forecasting heavy showers and thunderstorms from today until tomorrow due to the combined effects of the low-pressure system and a high-pressure ridge.
