Lawmakers review travel agent bill, pricing and licensing rules

The Second Standing Committee of the Legislative Assembly has continued reviewing the Travel Agents Guide Bill. Lawmakers questioned if high pricing by agents could be considered speculation. Chairman Chan Chak Mo said authorities clarified that clear pricing accepted by customers would not violate the law, excluding items like ferry and air tickets. The bill also proposes stopping the Macao Government Tourism Office from issuing tickets or work permits for transfer agents. Tourist guides must wear passes, with fines reduced and a first-time advisory warning introduced.
