A delegation composed of 25 Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT)-certified Macau enterprises, has toured Lisbon from November 9 to 15.
The second edition of the “Macao Technological Innovation Exploration in Lisbon” had the primary purpose of enabling local enterprises to participate in key industry events, including the Web Summit, held from November 10 to 13.
The Web Summit, the largest technology conference in Europe and one of the largest in the world, brings together entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders from over 80 countries to discuss emerging trends and foster collaboration.
Macau’s participation aimed to deepen ties with Portugal’s tech scene, allowing local tech entrepreneurs to gain deeper insights into the latest developments and trends, being co-hosted by DSEDT and Sands China Ltd.
During the summit, Macau companies engaged directly with global technology leaders and investors, exchanging insights and exploring potential collaborations.
Besides the Summit, the local delegates also had the opportunity to visit Portuguese incubators and innovation hubs to better understand the local ecosystem.
In a press statement, Grant Chum, CEO of Sands China, emphasized the continuous support from the company, stating, “Following last year’s success, we are committed to supporting Macau’s ‘1+4’ development plan and nurturing local talent and enterprises.” NS
