Lu dethrones Han in the GT4s

Lu Wenlong (Lotus Emira) won the Greater Bay Area (GBA) GT Cup, finishing ahead of reigning champion Han Lichao (Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2).
Starting from third on the grid, Lu made his move into the lead at the lights-out, overtaking polesitter Han and Darryl O’Young (Mercedes AMG) at Mandarin Bend.
In a race interrupted on three occasions, O’Young – competing in the final race of his career – hit the barrier at San Francisco Bend, also involving Moritz Berrenberg in the incident.
With just three laps remaining, Lu held the lead, defending against all attacks from Han, while Lu’s teammate Liu Kai Shun (Lotus Emira) gained a position from fourth to third.
The race ended in further drama as Chen Chun Hua (Mercedes AMG) struck the barrier at R Bend, prompting the final deployment of the Safety Car and leading the field over the finish line.
After the race, Lu credited his early move on the first lap for the victory.
“We knew we had the pace all weekend, but Macau is very tricky and anything can happen here,” Lu said.
“Knowing that, the plan was to get ahead as soon as possible, so making the move at Mandarin was definitely essential to win today’s race.”RM
