Luxury goods sales dive

The sale of luxury goods decreased between 30 to 50 percent in the first half of the year, according to the Macau Importers and Exporters Association. However, the association chairman Dominic Sio expects business to stabilize in the second half of this year. During an interview by TDM, Mr Sio questioned the concrete steps taken in order to develop the regional platform between Portuguese-speaking countries and China. According to Sio, the MSAR lacks the customs clearance advantage currently afforded to neighbouring ports.
