Melco Resorts & Entertainment and SJM Resorts, S.A. have, as expected, followed the previous announcements from other gaming concessionaires and announced salary increases for their employees, effective April 1.

The announcements also follow the same methodology, establishing a 2% increase for eligible non-management employees earning a monthly base salary (including guaranteed tips) of more than MOP16,000, while those earning less than MOP16,000 will receive a MOP500 monthly increase.

In the case of Melco, the salary updates were said to apply not only to Macau employees but also to those working in Hong Kong.

With the announcement, Lawrence Ho, chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, said, “Our team is fundamental to the service we provide at Melco. We are pleased to implement this pay increase to recognize their commitment, dedication, and hard work. As we look ahead to the opportunities in the coming year, we are committed to moving forward as a united and stable workforce.”

Representing SJM, Daisy Ho said, in an internal memo, that the salary increase reflects the company’s appreciation for employees’ dedication, professionalism, and outstanding contributions. RM
